Smith, Barry Blandford of Corunna

Peacefully after courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph's Hospice, Sarnia on Saturday September 8, 2012. Barry Blandford Smith, age 62years of Corunna. Beloved husband of Liz (King). Loving father of Jennifer Heaney and her husband Jeff of Guelph and Brooke Kyte and her husband Peter of Corunna. Dear grandfather of Emily Kyte, Charlie Olivia Kyte, Cooper Kyte and Noah Heaney. Barry is also survived by; his sister, Judy Hagel (Dick) of Sarnia; father-in-law, Ralph King of London and sister-in-law, Catherine Edwards of Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by; his parents, Ralph and Lorraine Smith; his mother-in-law, Corinne King and by his brother-in-law, David King. Barry retired from Polysar after 33 years of dedicated service, he was a member and volunteer with the Corunna Legion and was a co-owner of Island Sun Tanning Salon in Corunna. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Tuesday September 11, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Jill Rogers officiating. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held in Resurrection Cemetery at a later date. Suddenly surrounded by his loving family at Bluewater Health, Sarnia, on Friday March 16, 2012. Harold Sydney Romphf, age 79 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 59 years to Marie. Loving father of Harry Warne and his wife Vera of Blenheim, Harold Warne and his wife Pete of Timmins, Judy Chartier and her husband Rene of Thamesville, Larry Romphf of Corunna and Cindy Font of Petrolia. Dear grandfather of 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Harold is also survived by; his sisters, Ruby Butler of Port Colborne and Aletha Larson of Red Deer, Alberta. He was predeceased by; his daughter, Brenda and by his brother Frank Romphf. Harold retired from Polysar after 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Clair Lodge No. 425 A.F. & A.M.-Sombra and was a member of the Corunna Legion. Betty Doreen Noyle (McLaughlin) -
Age 73 of Mooretown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Bluewater Health - C.E.E. Site, Petrolia. Beloved wife and best friend of Jim Noyle for 43 years. Dear mother of Ed Bradford, Petrolia; Mailtand (Kerri) Noyle, St. Clair Township. Doting grandma of Kaitlan Mary and step-grandchildren Keanen and Kyle Smith. Survived by brothers Frank "Dick" (Connie) McLaughlin, Illinois USA; Fred (Carol) McLaughlin, Courtright; Brother-in-law Bob (late Shirley, late Sheila) Noyle, Wallaceburg as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Earl and Mary (Japp) McLaughlin and son Dale Bradford.

Memorial Service

Memorial service will be conducted at STEADMAN BROTHERS VISITATION CENTRE, 233 Cameron Street, CORUNNA on Saturday November 19, 2011 at 11:00am.

Interment

Interment of ashes to take place at a later date.

Edith Annie Williams

Peacefully at Bluewater Health on Monday, October 24, 2011, Edith Annie Williams (nee Bailey) of Corunna passed away at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Williams.
Loving mother of John Paul Williams (Christina). Cherished grandmother of Bailey Anne Williams (Michael Whitton).
Predeceased by her parents John and Annie Bailey, her son Kenneth Williams and her sister Velma Poole (Walter).
Edith was a lifetime member of Women's Auxiliary Corunna Legion and of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Corunna.
Cremation has taken place.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Smith Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

James Devereaux


DEVEREAUX, James, 68 of Corunna, at Bluewater Health on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Surrounded by his three sons, sister Carol and in spirit, by his mother, brother and sister, Jim left this earth peacefully to be reunited with his recently passed wife Patti. Jim leaves behind sons Paul of Toronto, Brian (Lynn), and Jeff (Jen) both of Corunna. Jim is loved, cherished, and will be forever missed by grandchildren Stephanie, Jamie, Katelyn and Lauren. He is also survived by his mother Lena, sisters Kathy (Andy), Carol, and brother Mike (Debbie). Predeceased by wife Patti, father Jack, in-laws William and Mary Gatehouse. Jim, retired from Imperial Oil, served with the Corunna Fire Dept. for many years, and along with his wife was an avid fan of the Sarnia Sting. Years ago he coached minor ball teams and later the Corunna Flames Women's two pitch team. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the support we have received throughout this very difficult year. A special thanks to Dr. Borek for his compassionate care and the many visits to the home of our parents. While we are saddened beyond belief and will miss our parents Jim and Patti, we are comforted by the fact that they are both at peace and together again for an eternity. Herbert Albert (Skip) - Peacefully at Bluewater Health on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, Herbert Albert "Skip" Shortt passed away at the age of 78. Beloved husband of the late Trudy (Cameron) Shortt. Loving father of Lawrence Shortt (Sylvia Cook), Deborah Shortt (Joseph Doucet) and Lorrie (Arnold) Ridley. Cherished grandfather of Justin Ridley (Daniel Harney), Meghan Ridley, Melinda Doucet, Tyson van der Grinten (Trish Nickerson) and Amber Barnes (Andrew Nutt). Great grandfather of Nevaeh and Noah Bressette. Also remembered by a special nephew Dean (Karen) Shortt. Dear brother of Harold (Bud) (Mary)Shortt and Lauretta Hill. Predeceased by his son Richard Shortt (2005) and sisters Jean Zink and Marydell McGregor. Herbert loved his family, boating, woodworking, cars and was a longtime associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Corunna. Peacefully at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side on Saturday September 10, 2011. Janice Christine Watson, age 66 years of Corunna. Beloved wife of 35 years to Danny "Dan" Watson.
Loving mother of Debbie Waitson and her husband Dan and Tammey Wright (Mary Bennett) all of St. Thomas. Dear grandmother of Robert Waitson of St. Thomas. Janice is also survived by; her mother, Annie Bate of Sarnia; her sisters, Carol McGuggan and her husband Jim of Point Edward, Barb Mortier and her husband Paul of Corunna; her brother, Norman Oke and his wife Jacquie of R.R. #2 Forest; sisters-in-law, Karen Pell and her husband Bob of St. Thomas, Mary Phillips and her husband Doug of London and Jackie Hartford of St. Thomas. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law Kevin Wright (1994).
Janice was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. #447, Corunna Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Sew Crazy Girls Sewing Club in Corunna.
Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna, on Tuesday September 13, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with Allan McKeown officiating. Charles Robert Phipps Sr.

Peacefully on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Charles Robert Phipps Sr. passed away at the age of 87.

Beloved husband of Jean for 63 years.

Loving father of Charles (Sharen) Phipps Jr., Gordon (Ruth) Phipps, and Kelli (Elia) DiCredico.

Cherished grandfather of Jeff, Karen, Jason, Sheila, John, Greg, Nick, Jeffrey, Anthony, and Corina.

Charles was a great-grandfather to numerous great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by his brother William Nathan Phipps.

He was also the past President and Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #447 Corunna, and was part of the Essex-Kent Scottish Regiment in WWII. In his 85th year, of Corunna, formerly of Windsor Junction, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospice, Sarnia. Beloved husband of Eva (Sanford) Dalrymple.
Loving father of Kenneth and Barbara Dalrymple of Grafton, N.S., Heather Dalrymple of Surrey, B.C., and Kirk and Stephanie Dalrymple of Corunna. Dear grandfather of Jennifer (Ian), Angela (Craig), Pamela (Bruce) and Amy (Aaron) Dalrymple in N.S. and Alissa and Lauren Dalrymple in Corunna. Cherished great-grandfather of 7.
Dear brother of Frances Lind of Dartmouth, N.S.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Laura (MacIntosh) Dalrymple, sisters Dorothy (Mrs. Charles Bell) , Jean (Clarence) Osmond and Betty Vaughan, brothers Alfred, Ralph, Clarence, James and Douglas Dalrymple.
Harry was a veteran of World War II, Overseas Service, and a Life Member and Past President of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #447, Corunna.

Peacefully after a brief battle with cancer surrounded by his family at St. Joseph's Hospice, Sarnia on Monday, June 14, 2010. Ed Whitehead aged 67 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 20 years to Sharon. Loving son-in-law of Mildred Hancock and the late Mirn (2002). Ed will be forever missed by his companion Morris. He was predeceased by his parents Reginald and Elizabeth Goodacre. He was an avid Sarnia Sting fan and supporter and was retired from CSX Railroad after 38 years of service. David enjoyed his 15 years of service working for John at Williams Landscaping. David belonged to Corunna Legion, where he enjoyed doing his crosswords, and spent many hours volunteering his time. He enjoyed the fellowship of the many people he knew there. David was well-known for his delicious baked beans.
